Program Files n.d., 1932-1947.

This series consists of a small number of program records from the Women's Missionary Society (WMS) of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church (UELC). Some of the records are undated. The others are from 1932-1947. They include two undated copies of the WMS constitution. One is in booklet form and the other is typewritten. Both copies contain the articles and accompanying bylaws. Included with the typewritten copy is a copy of the proposed changes suggested by the church council upon review of the constitution submitted by the UELC women at the 1932 convention. There is a copy of a 1932 letter of introduction the society sent to all UELC congregations explaining about the newly-created WMS and how interested people could join. Also in this series are statistical reports for 1932-1947 provided by the WMS statistical secretary. These reports were submitted at the annual WMS convention and outlined the number of societies in each district, how many of those were WMS, their total membership and WMS membership, and gains and losses for each year. Some years vary as to the type of information contained in the report. The 1933 report includes the language of the societies, later reports only present the total number of WMS societies per district and their total membership. The last record in this series is an undated copy of a WMS educational program about the Cherokee Indian Mission, Oaks, Oklahoma. This program was made available to local congregations for use at their meetings. It includes an outline for the meeting and background information regarding the history of Cherokee Indians, missionary activities, and missionary recollections.
